ANNOUNCEMENTS

ANGEL CHRISTMAS TREE

The Mission Department sponsored an Angel Tree project to collect gifts to give to the Johnson County Christmas Bureau (JCCB).  Participants took an Angel off the tree in the church's foyer and bought the gift that was on the Angel.  Sis. LaNaya LeDoux designed the Angel and 25 Angels were posted on the tree.  Pictures of the gifts as they were being sorted at Mother Machella Rogers' home, along with the photos taken when Mother Rogers, Sis. Judy Jackson, Sis. Anita Lenoir, and Sis. Mary Webb took the gifts to the JCCB, are in the Gallery section. Thanks to Mother Marzella McFarlin, Sis. Lenoir, and Mother Rogers for organizing the project and Sis. Judy Massenburg who suggested the project.  And thanks to everyone who contributed to the project.  We wish you a season of laughter, a table filled with love, and moments that make your heart swell with happiness.  Again, THANK YOU and God bless you!  Don't forget to view the photos in the Gallery section.

NURSING HOME CHRISTMAS TREES

The Mission Department also donated decorated mini Christmas trees to each resident at the Shawnee Garden and Sharon Lane care homes. In total 100 trees, along with individual Christmas cards that Carla Tooks signed for us, were donated to the two care homes.  On Saturday, December 6 Mission members Sisters Leola Tooks, Ozella Jones, Judy Jackson, Brenda Shivers, Cheterria Williams, and Mother Machella Rogers visited the two care homes and delivered the trees and cards.  In addition, they provided a hanging picture of the Mission Department members to each home.  The pictures taken at each home, plus Carla Tooks' picture preparing the cards, are located in the Gallery.  Sis. Leola Tooks, Sis. Brenda Shivers, and Sis. Denise Ford spearheaded this project with assistance from Sis. Williams and Sis. Mary Webb.  Again, members this was all made possible because of your donations to the Mission Department throughout the year.  A big THANKS to each of you and may your blessings overflow.  Remember to visit the Gallery.

CHRISTMAS FELLOWSHIP POTLUCK

It's approaching our Potluck Fellowship.  December 21, following morning service, is when we'll celebrate.  Bring your favorite dish and wear your favorite Christmas top.  Let's enjoy the occasion!

TO THE MT. OLIVE MEMBERSHIP

Our Trustee Board is at a critical point trying to fulfill all of our responsibilities.  Currently, we have only four active members and more are needed.  Therefore, we are soliciting members who want to apply to become members of our Board OR alternatively, are willing to voluntarily assist us.  The focus of those who volunteer will be on helping us complete current and/or future projects, which address the physical upkeep of the Church.

If you are interested in either becoming a Board Member or Volunteer, please communicate your interest by contacting any of the present Trustee Board members who are Charlie Jackson, Anita Lenoir, Brenda Shivers, and Luther Tooks.  Thank you.

"CASUAL DRESS SUNDAYS"

In keeping with the times, Pastor Arnick is designating 4th Sundays as "Casual Dress Sundays".  Feel free to dress in your casual attire. This may or may not include gear from your favorite pro, college, or high school team.
