MINISTER ORDINATION
Ministers Ardell Jones and Eurvin Williams, Jr. will be ordained at Mt. Olive on Sunday, September 21, 2025, at 4 p.m. Please join us in recognizing these fine young men.
TO THE MT. OLIVE MEMBERSHIP
Our Trustee Board is at a critical point trying to fulfill all of our responsibilities. Currently, we have only four active members and more are needed. Therefore, we are soliciting members who want to apply to become members of our Board OR alternatively, are willing to voluntarily assist us. The focus of those who volunteer will be on helping us complete current and/or future projects, which address the physical upkeep of the Church.
If you are interested in either becoming a Board Member or Volunteer, please communicate your interest by contacting any of the present Trustee Board members who are Charlie Jackson, Anita Lenoir, Brenda Shivers, and Luther Tooks. Thank you.
NATIONAL BAPTIST CONVENTION, USA, Inc.
The 145th Annual session convened September 7-12, 2025 in the Kansas City Convention Center. Church delegates were Pastor and Sister Arnick and Sister Lenoir. Sister Lenoir attended Women's Auxiliary sessions. She provided the following notes.
On Tuesday morning, I attended the Woman’s Auxiliary in Session where the protocol for the convention was established and included a health care presentation and memorial and tributes. Health care presentation emphasized ways to prevent infection, especially emphasizing hand washing and sanitation liquids. In addition, mental health was addressed. Three descriptions were introduced for us to identify our mental health status: sunny, foggy, and stormy.
The afternoon session covered Aging Gracefully, the Home Mission presentation, and the Foreign Mission presentation. Both the home mission and foreign mission presentation gave information on key activities and accomplishments in 2024=25 in the areas of church growth and evangelism, healthcare and education, and humanitarian and infrastructure support. Key activities occurred in Malawi, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, and Zambia. Initiatives are ongoing to gain entrance into Kenya. A total of 392 new believers were baptized through coordinated mission and evangelistic efforts. They invited churches, auxiliaries, and individual to partner with them in these ways:
Tuesday was also the traditional Women In White day.
On Wednesday, the main item was the 1st Annual Address for our Mission President Sister Virginia Hayes. President Hayes is an awesome leader and speaker.
She began speaking from Matthew 6:33 referencing seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness. It's a call to make God the focus of our lives and aligning our desires and ambitions to Him. We must seek in prayer, the Word, communion, listening, and allowing Him to shape out our steps so that they're reflecting His character. It's a deliberate daily commitment. If we are to be about the Kingdom building we have to focus and not on world distractions, tweets, texts, emails, etc. Our brains are being trained to listen to these distractions, which is not what God wants us to do. We must remember the enemy seeks to kill us and distract from our Creator.
F Fix your eyes on Jesus; turn not to the right or left. Make a deliberate decision to stay on the right path. Intentionally create time in our life to focus on Jesus.
O Obey His word. James tells us to be ye doers of the Word.
C Commit to His leadership style: have a servant heart towards others and give sacrificial service.
U Unleash His power for Ephesians 3:20 is a perfect example to God's ability for us to actively engage and experience the transforming power of God.
S Submit. It's not about losing control but gaining freedom.
If we keep our eyes on Jesus, we will not lose our FOCUS.
Change the course not the position. He's still in charge. The gospel still works. If you're saved, move from saved to commitment for God to use you.
The address can be viewed online using the following link. Prior to her presentation introductory events occurred. The entire video is 1:23:28 long; however, you can forward to and hear the amazing solo prior to her appearance by forwarding to 34:34.
